Congratulations to Akin Akinozu for receiving his first career award! The handsome young star of the hit Turkish Drama series, Hercai was awarded the Magazin Gazetecileri Derneği (The Association of Magazine Journalists) Altin Objektif Odulleri for Best Male Actor in a Drama for his role as the mercurial Miran Aslanbey. Akinozu’s meteoric rise to fame began in March of this year when Hercai first hit the small screen. Although he had been in four other popular series since the start of his career in 2015, he was cast primarily as a secondary character. With Hercai, Akinozu broke ground, or in his own words, “with the character of Miran I transitioned from crawling to walking in terms of my career”. In accepting his award Akinozu thanked the entire cast and crew and humbly dedicated the award to them.
The Awards ceremony was held in the beautiful CVK Park Bosphorus Hotel Istanbul and was sponsored by Netflix Turkiye and broadcast by Show TV. The striking actor who took a short break from filming, answered reporters questions. When asked about the epic kissing scene with the character of Reyyan played by the actress Ebru Sahin in episode 19, he smiled and said “We do whatever the scene requires of us. I hope everyone enjoyed it.” We did Akin. We did.
