Not long after heading off for a well deserved vacation following the completion of Hercai, Akin Akinozu emerged to participate in a charity drive. Demet Evgar, one of the stars of the series Alev Alev has taken it upon herself to raise money for a baby in need of life saving medicine. Baby Miran, who has a rare form of muscular disorder called Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 is the subject of the charity drive. SMA, a debilitating disease which can lead to death, can be treated by the drug ZOLGENSMA. The drug, and the treatment which is available in the US can cost up to 2.5 million dollars.
On one of the many online events hosted by Evgar, the audience was surprised and delighted to see a donation by Akin Akinozu for the amount of 10,000 Turkish Lira which amounts to 1100 US dollars. In the charity chat Akin said “Mirans are strong!” setting twitter ablaze with this quote.
Akin was so taken by Baby Miran’s story that he also joined Evgar in a later program to help raise money for the ailing child. In this event, on May 28, 2021, Akin donated the first suit he wore in the successful series, Hercai. He said that the suit belongs to him and has brought him much success. In donating the suit for bidding, he hopes that it will also bring success and luck to Baby Miran.
